Kaylor Steger from Mount Pleasant, WI was victorious this week winning the FPGTour’s Legacy Classic at Alaqua Lakes in Longwood. Kaylor found himself trailing first round leader Cougar Collins (68-72) by three strokes after opening with a 1-under par 71. In round two Steger made 8 birdies against two bogeys to fire the tournaments low round of -6 under par 66. Brian Richey of Winter Park finished alone in 2nd place on rounds of 72-67 just two shots back. First round leader Cougar Collins of Canada finished the week alone in 3rd place at -4 under (68-72). Rounding out the top 5 finishers this week were Jacksonville’s Pete Kellermann (70-71) and New Smyrna Beach resident Kevin Aylwin (69-72) both at -4 under par for the event. NEXT UP: The Florida Professional Golf Tour heads north to New Smyrna Beach for the 58th Annual Indian River Open at the NSB Municipal GC on Saturday-Sunday, February 4th -5th. Two of last years three co-Champions (Pete Kellermann and Kyle Wilshire) are already set to defend their title. The event kicks-off on Friday Feb.3rd with the Annual IRO Pro-Am.
